Our year 6 children benefit from a week long residential in their final year at the school. The children get the opportunity to partake in a range of outdoor and adventurous activities as well as a variety of team building activities. These activities are all designed to develop children’s resilience, team building skills and confidence, as well as covering the objectives for outdoor education in the National Curriculum. The cost of the trip includes indoor sleeping accommodation, food, activities, transport and insurance. Activities: The exact activities are not yet finalised, but will include activities such as climbing, abseiling, archery, aeroball, zip wire, high ropes, raft building and a range of team-building activities.

Accommodation: The children will be in single-sex rooms of four to six children and each room has an en-suite with shower, sink and toilet. The children receive three meals a day where there is always a choice of hot and cold food and a wide variety to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. If your child has any severe allergies or specific requirements, then please let me know nearer the time so that we can alert PGL of his or her needs.

Health and Safety: The PGL site has very high standards of safety. The children are with their group leader all day, and further PGL staff patrol the site throughout the night. All PGL instructors are fully trained in the activities they lead.

Payment information

Payment can be made via ParentPay:

Deposit – £50 by Friday 18th June 2021 (non-refundable)

2nd payment – £90 by 30th September 2021  (£60 non-refundable)

3rd payment – £90 by 26th November 2021

4th payment – £85 by 28th January 2022

You can, of course, make smaller and more regular contributions, as long as the deadlines are met. Please note, that the first £110 is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. Any money paid in addition to this is only refundable if we are informed in writing by 26th November 2021.

The final contribution can only be approximate at the moment as the cost of the coaches needs to be divided by the exact number of children, so this will obviously vary depending on the number of children we take.
