Information for Parents / Carers

During this period of National Lockdown, Gossops Green Primary will ensure that high quality learning will continue via online learning platforms.  All children not attending school should be completing work to a high standard online.

Learning will be provided via Seesaw (EYFS-Yr2) or Google Classroom (Yr3-Yr6). Teachers will upload work for the day from 7am each morning. This work should be completed on that day, where possible, and sent to teachers through Seesaw or Google Classroom.  Staff can then provide timely feedback and marking. Children also have access to various maths websites to complement this learning.

If you are struggling with accessing or submitting your child’s learning, we are available for help and support. We have ensured that teachers are available, through dedicated year group or class emails, to answer queries during school hours.

Access to technology

We are aware that not everyone has access to high quality technology. We have tried to identify which pupils do not have access to a laptop, PC, tablet or adequate WiFi – a phone is not an effective learning tool. If you are still struggling to access the learning due to issues with the devices you have, please contact the school office.

Critical workers and vulnerable children

Throughout this time, the school remains open to children of critical workers as well as identified vulnerable students. We are running small, year group bubbles in school everyday. Spaces are extremely limited so please only send your child in on the days when you have no other childcare. Places are requested on a weekly basis. Children do need to be accessing the home learning on the days when they are not in school; the learning in school builds on the work from the day before so the children will find it extremely challenging if they have not completed the previous learning.

Mental health and well-being

Finally, we are aware that mental health and well-being is extremely challenging but important in these challenging time. Our Nurture Team – Mrs Browne, Mrs Cooper and Mrs Bradbury are working and are available for advice. Please contact the school office or your child’s class teacher if you would like support in this area.
